Lauren Cunningham

Educational Psychologist (PYL37165)

Lauren is an Educational Psychologist who completed her Bachelor (Psychology) and Masters (Psychology – Educational and Developmental) in Australia. She has worked in CAMHS, Local Authorities, Hospitals and Private Practice settings in Australia and the UK.

Lauren is trained in a range of assessments and interventions, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Attachment Based Parenting Interventions (Circle of Security), Comprehensive Learning Assessments, and Autism Assessments (ADOS & 3DI).

Lauren offers one-off and ongoing consultation to young people, young adults, parents and education staff who might want advice or ideas about how to support a young person to work through difficulties and to thrive.

Lauren offers packages of individual therapeutic sessions (using CBT, DBT and ACT frameworks) to children, young people and young adults to help them work through low mood, worries, social difficulties, school avoidance and identity difficulties.

Lauren offers Comprehensive Educational Psychology Assessments to help young people, families and schools to understand how a young person learns and how the environment around them can be modified to support them to thrive.

Lauren believes that young people’s values and goals should be held at the centre, and that all assessments, interventions and recommendations should aim to help young people live a life of their choice.
